Stormwater Team
As CUFA worked on the Sewer Justice issues, it because very clear that our region lacks a clear plan for stormwater management to keep it out of our combined sewers and from damaging property as rains increase due to climate change.
We sought technical assistance through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help us develop a pilot program for the City of Cincinnati to provide direct assistance to homeowners dealing with overland flooding.
CUFA successfully worked to get dealing with overland flooding included in Cincinnati's Green Cincinnati Plan in 2022, and is now working to win a commitment from City Council to implement a pilot program for the five Beekman Corridor neighborhoods of South Cumminsville, North and South Fairmounts, English Woods, and Millvale.
CUFA is also working with residents in Evanston whose homes are sliding off into a ravine behind their homes to identify resources to fix the problem and the damages.
CUFA's Stormwater Team meets Third Mondays from 5-6:30 PM. Check the CUFA Calendar for details here.
